What is in a Lock?

A lock by any other name is still as secure. One of the most important self storage hardware pieces is the lock. The majority of companies use the basic lock in order to keep people’s doors secure on their units. There are a small amount of companies that use some kind of keypad entry in order to keep the door magnetized in order to prevent it from opening. Those facilities are far and few between due to the costs it takes to install that high security measure.

You would be surprised to realize how important the lock is to the world of self storage. There are different types of locks that some facilities use depending on their area. Most facilities do not encourage you to use a combination lock and I have often wondered why. If you think about it a lock with a key to me is the same as a lock with a key when it comes to cutting it off. But no matter what lock you use, the lock is the last line of defense for your belongings to be safe from burglars.

There are locks that can be very expensive and there are some that are proven to be unable to be cut off. I personally would be the one to purchase that lock if I were to use self storage. When it comes to self storage hardware and my belongings being safe and secure, I would make sure that my lock was up to the challenge. I would put a lock on my unit that was equal to value of what I would be storing. What is in a lock? For some people, the lock is keeping their life safe behind a door until they are ready to take it out.
