The internet today has expanded and grown so much that you can find content on absolutely anything. In the past ten years or so the internet has changed and improved so drastically that it has become the number one source in America to find information. Website articles are easy to find online, are reliable because they are published, and can be found over any topic. When looking for information online however, it is important to be aware of which content is reliable and which is not by making sure there is a reliable publisher. Coming across website articles over the topic you are searching for is a valuable way to find rich information.

A lot of the news and information in the world which previously was shared through the newspapers and magazines continues to be shared in these medias, but have expanded to online website articles as well. Because of this, less and less people are reading print media and are turning solely to online. However, it is still important to continue understanding how to search for print media and work with print media along with website articles. There are times when internet access is unavailable or technological problems are encountered when trying to find website articles. In a situation like this, it is important to be able to turn to print media if you are in need of certain information. For today’s generation, finding website articles is no problem. Today’s generation understands how to access certain information online and differentiate between reliable and unreliable online sources. However, understanding how to come across print media is posing a problem to today’s generation.

More and more, students today are unfamiliar with how to find information through the library. A healthy balance of knowledge needs to be established between understanding how to find reliable website articles and print articles when searching for information on a topic.

Most college professors make it a point to require multiple forms of sources for research papers because there is a lot of older information you can find in print that you cannot find in website articles. It is very easy for a student to search for information online but going to the library can pose new and greater challenges. However, once a student finds a reliable print source they can be exposed to information they could not have found online or that would have cost money online. Not all website articles are free but the library is always free. Plus, if you find long articles online you will need to print them so you can highlight, make notes, and pick out valuable information. If you have to print out long website articles then you will be spending a lot of money on ink and paper. Obviously, finding all of your information through website articles is not always the best decision.

There are many pros and cons to using website articles and print media. In order to create a balance in your knowledge, it is important to understand how to access and use both of them. With website articles you will find the latest and most up-to-date information out there. However, with print media, you will discover information that is older that you might not have come across with website articles. Make sure that you understand how to access both of them and that they are both important forms of media when looking for information.
