Dave was in a somber mood. The interesting thing was that Daves father was not a wealthy man. On the contrary, Daves father had gone into considerable debt to make it seem as if her were a wealthy man, where yachts and limo rides were the norm, when in fact they were a very expensive exception.

After the shock and grief of his fathers unexpected passing over a month ago, Dave knew that it was time to begin to go through his fathers accounts, settle the debts that had accrued, sell the yacht and return the money to his mother in hopes that she could sustain herself for a while. I have never been one to car about the expensive things in life. I am one that cares about value and that I am not spending money on something that is actually tangible to my life. We bought our cars because they make sense for what we need. I actually traded in a four door sports utility vehicle because it hogged gas and it also cost too much in terms of insurance. We bought our van because we needed some extra space to caravan our family. We drive the van on the weekends and also for our very long distance drives. We drive the car everyday back and forth from our job that is more than 30 miles away one way. So we value our possessions because they are important to our lives.

I bet it would be so cool to own a yacht. Usually if you have a yacht, that means that you have some sort of high status in the world.
