Have you been thinking of furniture storage . If so, then read our furniture storage tips to hire the best storage unit. Few factors should be kept in mind while choosing a facility. It will give you a lot of peace of mind and enhance your experience at the storage unit. Having selected the right service provider, you can be free of stress and worry. Read on to learn more about furniture storage tips.

Tips

Size – The first and the most important aspect is to choose the right size of a furniture storage unit. Look for a facility that can accommodate the entire furniture without under utilizing the space. Sometimes, the floor space or the vertical space is unutilized and this is certainly a loss for you. Furniture storage should be done systematically so that you use the entire floor space and the vertical space. This can be done by hiring racks that can hold on small items. It will also ensure that you do not dump boxes and create piles, which topple and cause damage. A systematic way of furniture storage will save a lot of space and can help you save some money too. For instance, you can keep the sofa in a standing position to maximize space. Similarly, chairs can be kept inverted on the dining table or mattresses can be kept erect. Beds and tables can be dismantled to increase floor space.

Packing – Good packing would mean that your items are stored properly and are in good condition when you bring them back home. Furniture storage when done in a planned and systematic manner will also increase the life of your furniture. Packed items are less likely to get affected by dust, mildew, mold and the likes. Different furniture items may require different types of packing. For instance, delicate glass furniture and decorative articles should be bubble wrapped. Similarly, a glass table can be wrapped in a blanket. Wooden furniture should be cleaned with a wet cloth, followed by a wax coat. Furniture storage is not an easy task you need to take efforts while packing. Use cardboard to protect mirror from both the sides. Mark fragile items with a special marking in red ink. Also create an arrow pointing upwards if you want to keep a box in its erect position. The arrow indicates the side that should be up.

Type of unit – Ideally a drive up unit is the best for furniture storage since it is very convenient. In case the unit does not offer drive up facility then look for a facility that offers fork lifts and trolleys and other carriage equipments. Moreover, there are some innovative types of units like climate-controlled units. These are absolutely dust free and are certainly better than the regular ones. It protects your items against extreme weather conditions. It also prevents mold, mildew, termites and other type of degradation.

Consider these factors while hiring a furniture storage unit. These handy tips will increase the life of your valuables and reduce the chances of damage.

If you know how to do it the right way, you will not find furniture storage a difficult task. Furniture storage is not just all about packing it and then putting it in a storehouse. There are several important things that you must take into your careful consideration while you are packing and storing these items. Following are the five things that you must do in order to ensure optimum security to furniture. Abiding by these would avoid unpleasant surprises when you take them out of the storing house after a couple of months or a year.

Do Not Use Plastic Or Old Newspapers To Cover Furniture
This is one of the most common and damaging mistakes people often commit. Though using old newspapers and plastic can be an inexpensive way to cover furniture while they are stored in a furniture storage facility, they may have undesirable consequences. Covering with newspapers will not only leave imprints on the wooden structures but not be able to provide the required protection against scratches and dusts as well. On the other hand, plastic cover will make it impossible for your furniture to breathe, which will eventually result in unpleasant problems, such as buildup of mold, mildew, and bad odors. Therefore, you are strongly recommended to use soft cotton fabrics for this purpose, such as old sheets. This will allow proper ventilation and prevent the formation of odors or molds. At the same time, such cover will provide utmost protection against potential problems, such as scratches.

Rent Units With Climate Control Feature
Climate control feature is essential for furniture storage . This will not only prevent that unpleasant musty odor but also protect your furniture against extreme weather conditions.

Your Furniture Is Not The Right Place To Place Heavy Objects On
Some people place heavy objects on furniture storage in a storing house – probably in an attempt to use every inch of the space available in such units. They want to make full utilization of the money they are paying as rent. But, it is important for you to understand that the prolonged pressure from such heavy objects will eventually result in indentations or permanent marks on furniture.

Leave Some Space Between Two Items
When it comes to furniture storage , it is also important for you to make sure that there is some space between any two items. This will not only allow good airflow but will also make things easily accessible. You may have tempted to utilize the available space maximally and to use every available inch in your furniture storage unit. But remember, such attempts will only result in unpleasant surprises and frustration in the time to come.

Use Pallets To Avoid Direct Contact With The Floor
Most furniture storage facilities are usually secure, but there is nothing wrong in taking precautions. Accidents may happen any time, anywhere. Your furniture items are prone to damage in case the floor gets wet, such as because of spills or flooding. Therefore, do not put these items directly on floor. Place them slightly above the ground by using pallets.

Overall, if you keep in mind the above furniture storage tips, you will be able to save a lot of time. Additionally, you will get the peace of mind because you know that your favorite furniture items are completely safe and secure in furniture storage units.

Why do people look for furniture storage units, or for that matter, any rental storing space.

The reasons can be many. You may need space on rent when you are-
Downsizing or reducing clutters
Moving house
Looking for space to store your belongings during college holidays
Needing extra space to store equipment, stock, or old documents
Requiring temporary space while renovating or redecorating your home

Furniture storage has its own distinctive problems. It is a big bother when these require a permanent or a temporary storing space. For one, household furniture or office furniture takes up quite a bit of space. The other issues are protection from temperature and humidity and proper packing.

Temperature And Humidity
Furniture surfaces create musky smell due to humidity if not properly stored. Temperature variations do not help either. Temperature fluctuations cause the wood to warp and crack. Hence furniture storage needs climate control. A bit of prior preparation is also required. It is a good idea if a moisture barrier in the form of a thick plastic is placed on the concrete floor to prevent moisture damage at the bottom. For metallic surfaces, a fresh layer of polish will prevent damage from humidity.

Packing
Proper packing is of paramount importance while storing furniture. Packing in a semi knock down or a completely knock down state will greatly help in saving space as well as in protecting the items from damage. Mirrors need careful protection. These can be secured by large pieces of cardboard and masking tape. Even wrapping mirrors in padding will ensure high degree of protection. Precaution will, however, have to be taken to ensure that nothing is placed above such fragile items. Screws, fasteners and other fixing elements should ideally be packed in a separate bag.

If you are eventually contemplating to buy on rent furniture storage space, there could be many queries on your mind. Here are answers to some frequently asked questions.

What Kind Of Security Can I Expect
Established storing space businesses provide good security. They have sophisticated alarm systems and 24-hrs CCTV surveillance apart from staffed receptions.

Is There Any Minimum Rental Period
Generally, furniture storage rentals specify one week minimum furniture storage . The maximum is unlimited.

What Are The Basic Formalities
You will need a personal photo ID and one more in the form of say, utility bill for proof of address. Some form of advance payment may also have to be done.

What About Insurance
Insurance is a must. Most furniture storage units offer a tailored insurance to suit your specific needs.

Can Payments And Reservation Be Done Online
In most cases, the answer is yes. However, it is good to check up with the storing house staff.

Most furniture storage units have their own web sites. By surfing the net, one can get a fair idea of the location, tariff, and furniture storage space features of various space rental businesses. If called, the unit staff should be glad to provide you with all details. You can even get customized solutions for storing your specific furniture elements. After all, the objective of a good furniture storage unit should be to provide you assurance that your items are safe and secure when you come back to retrieve them.

Local furniture storage facilities provide storing space not only to individuals but also to small businesses. The fact that you are considering using the services provided by these local furniture storage facilities means that you are really in need of them. There is every chance that over the years you have accumulated enough furniture that it has started to clutter the living space around you. Excess items of furniture as well as other household possessions need to be moved out to create enough walking around space.

As you do not wish to dispose of these extra items for reasons best known to you, your only alternative is leasing a unit in your local furniture storage facility. Getting ready to move your extra furniture and other personal belongings to your local furniture storage facility may seem like a gigantic task, but can easily be done, once you put your mind to it.

Packing, Loading And Gone
Making up your mind to de-clutter your home of the extra furniture is the main hurdle. Once having done so, you can use the extra services provided by your local furniture storage facility to have your possessions packed, loaded, and transported to your unit with them.

Furniture items require delicate handling so as to prevent marring their surfaces or causing more severe damage to them. Furniture cannot be packed in cardboard boxes, but they need to be covered. Professionals from your local furniture storage facility have the appropriate materials to do the job. If you wish so, they can dismantle and disassemble the parts of your furniture prior to wrapping them in paper or cloth pads.

You can get various cardboard boxes to pack your other household items. You can also have partitioned boxes for your individual pieces of crockery. They have strong and sturdy boxes for your heavier possessions. Your local furniture storage facilities also have appropriate boxes to pack your works of art in.

Loading onto moving vans is another back breaking job. Leave it to the professionals from your local furniture storage facility to load your pieces of furniture and packed boxes onto the moving vehicles and transport them to their facility.

For storing furniture, climate controlled units are the best option. These are temperature controlled and you can have them heated or cooled as required. It is necessary to have controlled conditions inside the local furniture storage unit for your delicate pieces of furniture and other possessions. It will prevent dust, mold, mildew, pests, insects, and moisture to damage your leather furniture, your electronic appliances, your expensive musical instruments, your fragile crystal ware, and your works of art and wax works.

Security is really important aspect here. Most facilities have the best security arrangements possible. Electronically controlled or biometric fingerprint identification access, as well as 24 x 7 x 365 video surveillance cameras that monitor and record all those coming and going in and out of the facility.

Latest in door alarms, secured locks on units, smoke and fire detectors, water sprinklers, are all part of security arrangements in your local furniture storage facilities.

There are many reasons and situations in life when you need to go in for local furniture storage to store your furniture. The reasons might be manifold such as when you are getting your home renovated or repainted when you have to shift your home whether in the same city or elsewhere and the new home is not ready to receive you when you have accumulated more furniture than what your house can conveniently hold. You might also decide to shift your extra furniture in order to free up some space in your home. Whatever the reason might be, you would need to take certain essential steps before local furniture storage in such a unit.

Finding A Proper Unit
The first step is to find a proper local furniture storage unit where you can keep your furniture safely and at an affordable cost. Moreover, you have to ensure that the local furniture storage unit is located near your house so that there is minimum amount of transportation and inconvenience.

Having selected the local furniture storage unit, you should assess the amount of furniture that you need to store. Their size and volume would help work out the amount of space they would occupy at the unit. It would be a good idea to make a moving checklist so that you know exactly what you want to store. You would also have to work out a plan of stacking the furniture so that they occupy the minimum space without causing any damage to them. This is essential as the rent will depend upon the amount of space that your furniture would occupy. Armed with your exact requirement, you can now choose the optimum amount of space, and thus, save on your hard-earned money. If you feel that the amount of furniture would occupy a full room, you can rent a local furniture storage unit that is exactly the size of the needed room so that you can easily walk into it. If, however, your requirement is relatively less, you can rent a cabinet-sized unit in local furniture storage .

Essential Preparations
Appropriate steps need to be taken to prepare and pack your furniture in order to ensure that there is no damage to the finish, style, and shape of the same while it is kept at the local furniture storage unit. When the furniture is being placed there, you need to put the biggest items first, and then, place the smaller items in the gaps between them. Lighter pieces of furniture can be placed on top of the bigger ones making sure that protruding edges do not cause any damage.

Items such as freezers, washers, dryers, ovens, and refrigerators should be placed upright against a wall of the unit of local furniture storage . The doors of these appliances should be left open so that air can circulate through them. The cords should be wrapped tightly and fixed on the back.

It would, however, be advisable before deciding on the items of furniture to be stored, to try and dispose of some of your items that might be superfluous and can be comfortably got rid of. The remaining furniture can be easily moved to Local furniture storage options to provide houses with the much-required extra living space.

Local furniture storage could be your best friend in case you need a special space for storing, or the transport for moving, your furniture. Furniture is most vulnerable to damage while moving. Therefore, it is utmost essential that you should hire an expert or professional in furniture packing, handling, transportation and storing while relocating or storing it. A local furniture storage company would serve this purpose.

Scratches, chipping and damage to the polish can mar the whole beauty of your furniture therefore, their proper packing and handling is of utmost importance. The local furniture storage companies possess all the resources required for the safekeeping and security of your own precious furniture. Furniture packing is an art. The heavy furniture items like beds are dismantled to store them safely and securely in a small space. All the corners of the chairs, sofas, beds, tables and wardrobes are covered with cushioning material in order to avoid chipping the ends. The packing professionals also make sure that the entire area of these items is wrapped with a suitable packing material to protect them from scratches. A packing film is used at the end so that all the packing remains intact. Sometimes cartons or special boxes are also used to pack the delicate furnishing items. For doing all this, special packing supplies and expertise are required, and the local furniture storage company can help you with it.

Furnishings made of wood need special care. These items are prone to infestation by termites and other bugs and it is necessary that they should be stored in a dust-free and humidity-free environment. Nowadays, you will find several local furniture storage companies offering climate controlled store units. These units have air conditioning and heating systems that keep the climate inside them perfect, neither hot nor cold. Thus, they protect your furnishings from the damage that could happen due to extremely high and low temperatures and high moisture conditions. Moreover, these store units are completely enclosed and do not allow dust, sunlight, and pests to enter. In this way, your items are completely safeguarded from all threats.

Since furniture is bulky, people find moving it to the storehouse difficult. Therefore, local furniture storage companies also provide transportation services for the moving of goods between the Local furniture storage and the premises of the customers. Thus, the people shifting to another place can give the responsibility of packing and storing the furniture to the local furniture storage company. Whenever the client needs his furnishing items, they are transported to him at the desired location.

Before renting a local furniture storage unit, make sure that the company provides all the services you want. Also, check the storehouse thoroughly to see the facilities and the store units available inside it. Do not forget to insure your furnishing items. This will make sure that you get the damages if, due to any unfortunate event, your furniture gets spoiled or lost. Your local furniture storage company might help you in getting the insurance too.

There are many different things you need to consider before you purchase your living room furniture. The furniture that you have in your living room needs to fit all of the needs you will have for your living room, but it also needs to be in the price range that you can afford.

If you are starting out on your own for the first time, chances are you probably have room mates. When this occurs you most likely are still in college and you and all your room mates might not have the most money to spend on living room furniture or any other furniture or necessities as well. Therefore, your living room furniture is going to come from a number of different places and, most likely, you will not spend a lot of money on it. The most important thing to focus on when buying furniture for your living room in your first place is to have what you will need.

It is okay if your furniture does not match and if it is not brand new. As long as the living room furniture fits the needs you and your room mates have, you will be good to go. Make sure you have plenty of seating for everyone who lives in your place plus any guests you might have come over. Also, it is a good idea to have plenty of coffee tables or tables for magazines, card games, board games, and any other thing you might need a table for. Most people also have living room furniture such as tv stands, lamps, and love chairs. All of these things can be found for a pretty good deal used online or from friends or family. If you are first starting out and do not have a lot of money, you can still probably find living room furniture that you and your room mates can afford. It might not be new and it might not match but that is not the most important thing to worry about.

Once you are established in a home that you want to be in for a long time and you have a reliable job, you will probably want to find living room furniture that fits all of your needs and also looks nice. Once you have money, you will have much more freedom when choosing your living room furniture because you will be able to afford more. You can go to a furniture store and pick out living room furniture that suits your price range and that looks nice and matches. If you have children or pets, think about the fact that the furniture will probably get dirty often so you will want for it to be easy to clean. However, if you live alone or only with your spouse, you might want to buy living room furniture that is of a nicer material.

No matter what your stance is in life, if you have a place to live in that is not furnished you will need to buy living room furniture. Before you buy this furniture make sure to think about what you will need to have in your living room, what you can afford, and how you want your living room to look. All of these things are important factors to think about when picking out living room furniture.

Returning home from a busy day at work, many professionals find themselves disinclined to perform, well, more work.

Local furniture storage is a good thing to have. The reasons for this, of course, are numerous. Really, though, you should not have any trouble with imagining how a secure self storage unit could help simplify your life. Allow me to explain.

Many people find themselves in cluttered homes, cluttered garages, and, most often, cluttered basements. The tricky thing, here, is that many of these people do not want to get rid of their extra belongings. It is not always the case that these cluttered items are junk. To the contrary, many of them are things that people care very much about. As the years go on, though, they find that they simply do not have room around their homes to hold onto all of them. This, I dare say, is why many of them turn to self storage units. This, of course, is why you should give self storage a shot if you have not already done so.

Many people avoid self storage because they feel that it is going to be inconvenient. Many people fear that they will not have ready access to their belongings. No matter how cluttered their homes become, certain people seem to avoid the entire notion of self storage. Really, though, if you are one of these people, you should understand that self storage is not inconvenient. With great access hours and great security, you are actually going to benefit from storing your extra belongings.

Local furniture storage can truly be a life saver. If you have not done so already, call a few nearby facilities and gauge how much you can benefit from a quality self storage unit.

My dad is the definition of a pack rat. He refuses to let go of anything. Someday we are going to use that, but ten years later we still have not and he still has it sitting in the garage. He likes to buy things not because he necessarily needs them but because it is on sale or at a good price. Can not pass up a good deal because it could be a gift or we could use that. Well the day has finally come that my mother has had enough there is no longer room in the house for all of dads prized possessions.

It took us two whole weeks to clear out what dad could bear parting with. Problem is now that we have no where to put it. We decided to have a massive garage sale but in the meantime we have to have a place to store everything.

We put everything into the local furniture storage facility for safe keeping. The garage sale is not for a few more months. We were waiting for it to get warmer so more people would want to come out. They helped us rent a truck at the local furniture storage place and were very helpful in the moving process.

We ended up making a nice profit off the garage sale and dad felt a little better after that. He still wants to buy everything on sale but has gotten better. However, no one breaks habits that easy so we kept the storage number on speed dial just in case.

Well after four years out on my own, studying and having a carefree lifestyle down at my college, which was conveniently two hours from home the inevitable has happened. I have my expensive degree and no job to my name. However, what I do have is a lot of stuff, and it can not all fit into my awesome room back home. That is correct, I am moving back in with mom and dad. How exciting. My furniture is not coming with me because it has nowhere to fit. My local furniture storage is where I have decided to place all my belongings until I get another apartment. It has 24 access which is very convenient incase I need something I forgot to unpack at home. The security is also another reason I decided to go with local furniture storage . My couch and lamps are safe and protected from the elements outside. This lets me sleep in peace at night, knowing I have the same couch in the same mint condition when I move out. This by the way will be very soon – I hope. Love you mom and your cooking, but not your twenty questions everyday about where I am at and what I am doing.

As for now I am focusing on finding that job that I will do well at. All my attention is on that task and it is very nice not to have the stress of worrying about my furniture taking up all the space at the house of my parents.

I finally landed a job and have some extra cash flow. Upon receiving my new job I purchased my first home as well. With all this new grown up stuff I feel the need to have new grown up furniture. So I went to a local deals furniture place to find some new living room pieces. I found the perfect leather couch and recliner in black. My day got even better when I found a beautiful coffee table and two inn tables to match. I was so excited to have some nice furniture that all went together. We had a nice apartment in college but the couch and chair was mine the inn tables one roommates and the coffee table the other ones. Nothing matched. My couch and chair were both from my grandparents that had recently purchased new ones. They did not match either which was fine for school. They are still nice pieces so I wanted to sell them. With all the boxes and new furniture in my house there was no room to keep them until they sold.

My friend told me about the local furniture storage in our town and that is exactly where I took them. It was the perfect holding spot until they finally sold. It was a convenient transition and was very easy to move in and out. The staff at the local furniture storage facility was helpful and informative. I now recommend this facility to all my friends in the same situation.

Have you ever got furniture that you were not to happy with? I am sure you have. You just might not want to admit it. You know the furniture that I am talking about that you have just because you thought it was a good value. The furniture that you bought from a discount furniture store and there was a sales person to tell you anything that you wanted to hear. The furniture that when you sit on it, it kind of squeaks or creeks. The furniture that when you sit down, you have trouble getting up and it is not because the cushions are so soft and inviting. It is because the furniture is not good.

Sometimes I just want to find a local furniture storage facility that can hold on to my not so great furniture until someone wants to buy it who thinks of it as a treasure or deal. A happy family or single person can enjoy a value set of furniture and then I could use the money I gain from the transfer of the property. I would have the local furniture storage facility hold on to my furniture until that lucky person comes along.

The furniture that I have has taken care of me when I needed it to. It does provide a way for me to sit down with my family and watch a movie. We could all snuggle up with each other and also it gave us a place to come in from a busy day, lay down and catch a couple of snoozes. I will be sad to see the furniture go, but we have already decided that we need new furniture.

l needed to find some local furniture storage because I have a couple of sofas that a friend of mine from St. Louis is coming to pick up. I just put them in there and told him to come down whenever he was ready and he could get them. It was really convenient to have a secure place to store my sofas while my friend was able to take his time and come at his leisure. I started to think about how much more difficult things would be without self storage.

It would have been impossible for me to get the couches to him, and he could have never made it here in time for me to move out. Finding local furniture storage was really easy too. I looked it up on the internet and there were about 10 places within five miles of me. There are even people who will bring a storage unit to your house, you can load it all up, and then they take it away for you. I am not sure how efficient that is as far as gas is concerned, but if you need it someone has it.

The moving process is pretty complicated by itself. It makes it even harder if your move out date and move in date are not the same. In order to make that transition smoothly sometimes it is necessary to have some type of storage available. We are lucky that such a business exists.

When you think of Labor Day, I bet that happy images of barbecues and family gathering are foremost in your mind. When I think of Labor Day, though, images of local furniture storage race around in my mind.

I had no idea that Labor Day was such a busy time of year for moving. Thinking back on our rush though, I suppose that it makes a great deal of sense. Many people wait until long weekends to conduct their moves. Though many of us take advantage of that extra day off with barbecues and relaxation, I can see how a pressing moving situation could trump the holiday festivities.

I should also note that Labor Day weekend coincides with many college start dates. Many of my friends had their first day of class the day after Labor Day–a traditional start up time, indeed. Because of this, many college students are looking for temporary storage. Many students have no yet finalized their living situation, which drives them to look for a safe place to keep their furniture in the meantime. You would think that students would be just about settled in as the school year starts, but that is certainly not the case!

Procrastination is never a good idea, but at least there is plenty of local furniture storage . If you ever find yourself in a moving-related bind, do not hesitate to pick up the yellow pages and find the facility that will work out best for you. You will be happy that you did.

Jamie was fast approaching her 39th birthday. Everyone else seemed to be making such a big deal out of it. Teasing about getting ever closer to the BIG 4-0 abounded at her workplace, which was a local RV storage center, and in her home life, where a ruthless teen aged daughter repeatedly called her old and jokingly enunciated her words, slow and extra loudly, as if to say that Jamie’s hearing was giving out on her. Although she was being playful as she said it, it was still rather annoying to Jamie, who, really, didn’t feel old at all.

Jamie still felt and looked youthful. She had taken fairly good care of herself, though admittedly she could have exercised more and stopped drinking so much coffee. But for the most part, she looked good for her age. So good, that whenever she would reveal her age, people often seemed very surprised that she was over 32.

Jamie had been working within the self storage community for her local RV storage center for some time now, and she enjoyed her job. She had many friends within the network of facilities that she regularly visited, and she was content, for the most part, with life. Even though Jamie still looked young, her body was beginning to show signs of wrinkles, and her eyesight was admittedly getting weaker. Jamie was aging, and like every other woman who ever had a birthday, that truth weighed on her at times.

She had lived her youth, she had experienced much, and now it seemed, she was heading into if not the winter of her life, then at least the autumn. She felt that she had a strong appreciation for the wisdom that she had gained in her life, from relationships, and from her own personal development, from spirituality and from the adventure of having and nurturing children. She was prepared to watch her body continue on its process, but even still, she had no intentions of helping it along. Tomorrow, she thought, I’ll get back in the gym.

Trixie was a beautiful light brown pit bull terrier with two white paws and a white muzzle. She was fully grown, and found, starving and mistreated, wandering behind a local furniture storage in a rather questionable part of town. Malnourished and weak, the good Samaritan who had found her took her in to a nearby animal shelter where they refused her on the basis of her breed. Undaunted, the man found a pit bull rescue some miles outside of the city, and he took Trixie there. They graciously accepted her. Upon examination it was determined that Trixie had been chained up all of her life and used as a breeder, most likely for someone who raised fighters. Though the cruel and inhumane sport of dog fighting was highly illegal, it was a popular underground gambling and money making operation.

Trixie was nursed back to health by the compassionate animal lovers at the rescue shelter. After many months at the rescue, she was placed in a foster home and put up for adoption. Few people are interested in pit bulls, as their over popularized media fed reputations as being ruthless killers precedes them. The rescue workers knew better, though. Pit bulls are some of the most loving and social dogs there are, and they are especially good with children, as long as they are loved and cared for. The rescue workers made sure to fully check the references as well as the home situation of any potential adoptive family. They would not allow any of their rescues to end up abused or mistreated only to end up homeless outside the local furniture storage center.

Tiffany was a real estate manager who lived in the city. She had grown up with a pit bull who had been her loving companion and funny sidekick her entire childhood life. Poppy, Tiffany’s childhood pup, had never once even growled at her or any of her friends. Tiffany had been witness firsthand to the loving, wonderful disposition that pit bulls can display. She fell madly in love with Trixie upon first sight, and after a preliminary background check and house inspection, Trixie had found her forever home.

Shelley had the entire afternoon to herself. She had planned on spending it preparing and packing for her upcoming move to Seattle. Instead, she found herself procrastinating, playing a virtual aquarium game on her computer as the day got away from her. She had ‘purchased’ several new species of fish for her virtual tank, but it cost her three hours of intense cyber shell collecting. She knew that she needed to get to work on her to do list, and actually accomplish something, but she just didn’t feel like putting forth the effort.

Moving to the Pacific Northwest really did excite Shelley. Seattle was one of her favorite places to visit, and she knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that she was going to love it there. What she was unsure of, though, was her new living situation. She was moving into a small two bedroom apartment with a roommate, a girl who she had only met over the phone and through email. They were both going to be attending a local university and they were both new to the area, so that was common ground for them, but Shelley had never lived with a roommate before. And what made matters worse is that over the years, Shelley had acquired quite a bit of furniture. It was all furniture that she would be leaving behind, at least for a while, securing it inside of a local furniture storage center for the time being, until she could come back for it later on, when her living situation changed. Now she just had to find a local furniture storage place.

Shelley sighed. She just had to move on this or her entire day would be gone. She resigned herself to taking action. Before she knew it, she was online, a determined self storage customer searching for a bargain. She found what she was looking for within a matter of minutes. She called and spoke with the manager, and was even able to redeem a self storage coupon that she had found on the website for even more savings. She was glad that she had at least gotten something accomplished. Her virtual fish were hungry again, so she decided to take a short break and go feed them.

No one likes to move, especially me. I have lived in four different houses that I can remember. I liked that my parents wanted to make a better life for us, but the actual process of moving, I dislike. Since I am a big guy, I am the guy that gets to pick up all the large things we want to move. Sometimes I wish that I were about half my size and then maybe I could move things like, pillows, couch cushions or a lamp.

I tell you the one piece I hate to move is the couches. They are so bulky sometimes and you wonder how you even got it into the house. When looking at all of your belongings space. You might have to put some of your items in some local furniture storage facility until you have room for it.

That sometimes can be a pain to do so because when you move you usually have people to help you move the first time, but you might not have those people available when you are trying to get your belongings out of the local furniture storage facility. From experience it is not fun at all to have someone help you to move a couch when their end of the couch out weights them by 50 pounds. I guess I could be happy that someone is deciding to help me move the furniture where ever I need to move it so I should not complain.

Local furniture storage is great for clearing up some space around a crowded house or garage. What it is also perfect for though, is band practice.

I have posted several entries about my plans to rent a storage unit for the purposes of band practice. Now, readers, I actually have. Let me tell you, I am quite happy with how things are working out so far.

Unlike a house, a storage unit is completely private. At our storage site, we never have to worry about waking people up when we play, regardless of how loud we play! Because our facility has twenty-four hour access, we are free to come and go as we please. This sort of flexibility is absolutely necessary for us; after all, we are all juggling work, school, and this band! Without flexible gate hours, we would never get to practice!

I also love that our storage unit is super secure. At the store, I made sure to purchase a high security lock. With that on the door, and with constant video surveillance throughout the property, we not only feel safe about playing music on the property, we also feel safe about leaving our instruments behind over night! Talk about a time saver! By keeping all of our instruments in our practice space, we do not have to waste hours per session transporting drums, amplifiers, and cables across town!

Local furniture storage is great for clearing up the house, but do not limit your imagination. With your site manager’s approval, a storage unit can fulfill innumerable needs!

I honestly hate not having another coach or love seat in the house. I do not plan to sleep anywhere else but my bed anytime soon, but it is good to have options for my family to sleep whenever they come over to visit. Sometimes when my family wants to come over and my wife’s family wants to come over, we have to ensure that we schedule them at different times due to the lack of sleep space. That is not good because we have to choose who we want to see that weekend. At the same time, our house will not be over run by family.

My wife and I thought it would be a good idea to put our furniture in a garage sale, instead of finding a local furniture storage facility. We could have used our garage but we decided to park our vehicles there instead.

I guess it doesn’t matter whether or not I would have another coach or two downstairs. I would just have piled up junk on it like I do now. If I would have used a local furniture storage facility, I would have definitely used a climate controlled space. I don’t think that a coach would hold up well in a standard space.

I am always scared to sit on a couch that I have not sat on for a while. You can never know what has crawled up there to call home. Usually basements are known to be dark and damp. Mine is no exception. I guess I should be blessed that I do not have sleep downstairs at all. I can rest comfortably in my bed upstairs with my wife. Sorry mom and dad.
