Solar panels cannot be used as water pump as they do not work at high voltage. Before installing a water pump, you need to first find out how much wattage your panel would have to produce to make the pump work. If you are installing the mount outside your home, then you need to ensure that it is installed at a distance away from trees and other residences to prevent any damage. 

Solar panels are an excellent source of energy and they are often used to produce electricity to light homes. However, when talking about wattage for a water pump system, sine wave invertors are a better option than a solar panel.  So, using these panels in moderation is advisable.
