From the supplier: Texts by early modern women have not, in the closing years of the 20th century, had a critical tradition attached to them. This creates a fresh perspective from which to examine the interplay between author, reader, and culture, an opportunity enriched by the Brown University Women Writers Project goal of making texts by women available through computers. These women’s texts should offer fresh insights into crossing the boundaries between literature, history, sociology, economics, psychology, and material culture.
