A self storage coupon is a great way to promote your storage business.  People respond very well to coupons and everyone loves to get a deal.  It is a very good idea for self-storage owners to get involved with the marketing of their stores.  Giving people a discount in the winter time is a great way to increase sales in an otherwise slow period.
A self storage coupon can give customers the feeling that they are getting something for free.  Discounts are the best way to get people to move in unfavorable weather.  There are a few ways you can go about giving people deals on their storage units.  You can get coupons which someone would need to bring in to redeem.  You can also give a percentage off of the rent each month, or free rent for the first few months.  A great way to get people stay a little longer is to have the third month free.  Many people only want a storage unit for a couple of months, giving a tenant the third month for free sometimes results in them realizing how convenient their unit actually is.
Giving people discounts on their units can also be reactive.  When someone calls a storage facility, often times the manager will save the discounts as a fall back offer.  If you give the discounted price up front, when the customer has an objection you won’t have any room to move.  Any option that you choose for your discount should be advertised.  Make sure people see it or hear about it or your efforts have been wasted.
