Public Service is Important

There are multiple public services which America offers to its citizens in order to create a safe, convenient, and positive living environment. A public service is any service which the government provides to its citizens. Any job which is supposed to serve the community and is not a business and meant to make money is a public service. Millions of people in America are employed by the government to serve the country’s citizens.

One of the most popular public service opportunities in America is becoming an educator. Educators at any public institution are committed to a public service for their career. It is important to have these educators because many citizens in America cannot afford private education. It is important and a law for all children in America to attend school until the age of sixteen. In today’s world, it is very difficult to be successful without an education and everybody needs to know how to read, write, and do basic mathematics. The public service educators dedicate their lives to helping the children of America reach their fullest potential and have the best education and opportunities possible. The public service that all of these educators do are necessary in keeping America a thriving and booming country by touching each child’s life and giving them the opportunities to be successful at life.

Another one of the most important public service is the police service because police dedicate their lives to keeping America safe. There is a lot of crime which we will never be exposed to because the police are keeping offenders off the streets. Because police officers enforce laws everywhere there are less car accidents, less murders, less robberies, and America is a safer country overall. Even though many people do not appreciate the police, the police are another one of America’s most important public service and the country would be insane if they were not around. Many people take it for granted how they feel safe most of the time in America, but without the police nobody would be safe.

A public service many people do not think about very often or appreciate very much is waste management. Imagine if there was nobody there to come and pick up your garbage every week and how terrible that would be. What would you do with all of your trash? Imagine if nobody ever had their trash picked up and taken to that landfill many never think about. There would be garbage everywhere and the world would stink! Waste management is obviously not a very glamorous public service, but it is also very important. Once again, the fact that someone comes and collects trash every week is taken for granted by many.

Firefighting is also another public service in America that is very necessary. Although it is rare to see a fire break out, when it does happen the fire fighters are there to save the day. If a fire gets out of hand a lot of damage can be done and a lot of people can end up getting hurt.

All of the public services offered by the government to its citizens are important and necessary to the safety and well being of everyone in America. Without public service, the country would be a dangerous, scary, and unhealthy place to live. Citizens in America are lucky to have public service provided to them on a daily basis.
