I just took a rather saddening phone call from a customer looking for local car storage . Allow me to tell you her story, as I think that we can all benefit from hearing it.

This caller had left her vehicle on the road for several weeks. Though the weather was steadily getting worse, she figured that her neighbors were good enough drivers. She figured that she could safely leave her vehicle on the road regardless of how bad the winter storms became.

One night, her town was struck by a powerful ice storm. She did not move her car. Rather, she went to bed, confident that her neighbors would drive carefully. Imagine her frustrating when she woke up and found a sizeable dent in the side of her car. Her paint was chipped away, her door would not open, and the chrome around her car had been irreparably damaged. All evidence pointed to the fact that someone had struck her car. What is worse is that this person did not leave their name or insurance information. She was left without anywhere to go.

Needless to say, she began to call around for local car storage . She decided that her blind faith had cost her more money than a storage bill would have, and she lamented her choice to leave her car on the road. Though the damaged vehicle was not her primary mode of transportation, it was important nonetheless.

To those of you reading this article, beware of ice storms and reckless neighbors. If you want to guarantee that your vehicle stays safe, find a good self storage unit and keep it out of reach.
