How Online Shopping Saved Me

When I broke my leg my senior year of high school I was miserable. It was my senior year, and I was stuck at home while all of my classmates were spending the last year we would be together, together. I was bored, and lonely, and cranky. I breezed through the school work my sister would bring home for me from all of my teachers, but after that I had nothing to do. TV got old after a while. Then, I discovered the world of online shopping. When I broke my leg my rich aunt gave me a whole bunch of money. I guess she felt bad for me and thought money would help. Well, she was right. As soon as I discovered online shopping it did help!

Online shopping opened up a whole new world for me as I was lying in bed at home. I always loved shopping, and before I broke my leg I was at the mall at least every couple of days. Typically, I did not have that much money to spend, but since my aunt sent me all that money I finally did! I had always known online shopping existed; I just never thought to try it out before since I could always get around just fine.

I first thought to try out online shopping when my best friend’s birthday was approaching. I knew that she would understand if I did not get her anything since I was pretty immobile, but I knew I would feel bad if I did not. She wanted a scarf for her birthday, so one day I thought to look at scarves online, so I could get an idea of what I should get her. Well, as soon as I typed scarves into the search engine, the world of online shopping opened up to me. Tons of different websites that sell scarves popped up at me, with hundreds of different scarves to choose from! I was amazed at the selection that I was faced with. I combed through the selection for hours, trying to find the perfect scarf. When I finally found one I knew she would like, I realized how easy it was to go online shopping! I purchased the scarf from my home and had them deliver it to my home. It was a piece of cake!

When my best friend’s birthday rolled around, I was so excited to give her something I had bought while online shopping. I thought that I was not going to be able to get her a birthday present, and I was pretty proud of the fact that I did get her one that I had shopped for myself. Since things were pretty hard to do because of my broken leg, everything I did accomplish made me proud of myself.
Following her birthday, I filled my long days of boredom with online shopping. Because I had so much time on my hands, I was able to take all the time I needed to pick out the perfect item. Online shopping was a lifesaver for me because without it, I was bored out of my mind! My parents humored me and let me make most of the purchases I wanted to since it was my money, and they did feel pretty bad for me being stuck at home and all. Now, my cast is finally off and I can walk again, but whenever I don’t want to get up to go to the store I get online and go online shopping!
