   These bags are fantastic!!!
   
   Not only do these bags look great, they work well too!
   
   Grocery shopping is easy as three bags do a pretty big load, stand-up and fit well over your shoulder.
   
   They are also well suited to downtown shopping as the design is subtle and sophisticated.
   
   So good I bought three more!

   There is one case for the three bags. Each bag individually wraps up into a tiny package, which is great because you don’t have to worry about losing the carrying case. Getting three bags is a good deal, because you can leave them in different places – one in the diaper bag, one in my coat pocket, one in my purse. Really cool design, too!

   I use these whenever I go shopping – they add almost no room or weight and are quick to fold. I also use them traveling as packing organizers – folded clothes get organized and stacked in these and then packed, and stay folded much better than when everything is loose. When I get where I’m going, they’re back to being shopping bags again and I’m never stuck asking for paper or plastic. It’s nice that I can always have a spare with me. They went on a 5 mo round-the-world trip with us and still no holes or tears.

   I also like how nice looking the bags are.

   Since these are no longer available, the Chico recycled PET shopping bags seem like a good alternative.

   My wife and I use two of these with the Topeak baby carrier rack. They are fantastic! Lightweight, easy to get on and off, sturdy, and can hold a lot – a very full standard canvas bag will fit in each one (or two gallons of milk). With the shoulder straps, you don’t even need to bring a separate bag to the store. It also has two regular handles along the long edges.

   It attaches with two rubber-coated clips on top and an elastic bungee that you clip down near your rear axle. Takes 5 seconds to put on or off.

   Perfect for trips to the grocery store whenever weather will allow. When snapped “closed”, you can still slip a bike lock or letters into it and they’ll stay secure. The bottom has a sturdy piece of plastic to keep it flat, and the sides have support rods so your stuff doesn’t move all over the place.

   Only drawback is it’s not waterproof – the sides are a mesh and the top is wide open.

   I purchased two Avenir Metro 2.0 Shopping Panniers and am very pleased. They are the perfect size to hold grocery bags. I use reusable cloth grocery bags but they work great with regular paper grocery bags and plastic bags as well. Besides trips to the grocery store, I use them to commute to work and to go to the beach and park with my kids. They work great to hold my shoes, lunch, beach towels, toys, etc. They are very easy to attach and they stay secure. The interior zippered pockets are great for holding the keys to my bike lock, my garage door opener, extra sunglasses, etc. The panniers also fold up easily while attached to the bike when you don’t need them. Very convient and easy to use and priced well. I highly recommend them!

   I’d just got a pair of these delivered and was leaving Trader Joe’s with two big bags of groceries, and I wasn’t 10 feet down the road when my heel caught one of these panniers and everything went flying. Fortunately, I recovered all my stuff undamaged, and didn’t cause an accident. I’m no rookie when it comes to panniers. I rode my bicycle fully load
   
   ed cross country some time ago and I can’t say I never lost my packs, but in 4k miles, maybe 2-3 times. The panniers have tension straps that are adjustable, but the straps are cheap and come from 2 angles. On my old panniers, the tension strap (singular) was vertical, and worked just fine. The clips that go on your rack are too wide, so I’ll probably either have to find new ones or cut them down to size so I can fit them further back. Another beef is that the panniers rise above the rack, making it hard to bungie down other a lock, or other stuff. I’d rather have the weight pushed against the rack than the plastic sidings of my panniers. Makes no sense. I wish this company had taken the time to think through their product. I’m giving it 3 stars generously because assuming they don’t fall off any more, they should serve some use, and at least you don’t have to zip tie the goofy looking metal cage packs others are using for groceries. My guess is that since their isn’t much competition in the pannier business, there’s little incentive for intelligent design, let alone innovation. Too bad.

   Best carrier for the price I found. Can squeeze a lot of groceries in it. I did lose one though unknowingly. A car passed me and i thought it hit something … that was the noise of my pannier falling off my bike. Didn’t realize until I got home. oops; my bad. But I wish there were a way to more snugly attach to the bike rack.

    Can hold a good amount of weight mounted on the side of the bike, but the strap will rip if youo hold lots of weight with the shoulder strap.
