From the supplier: Insurance agents quoted erroneous prices or misleading figures for automobile insurance, during a telephone survey conducted by the staff at California’s Department of Insurance. According to California Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi, many insurance agents refused to make quotes or did not return any calls. The survey led the department to recommend that insurance carriers need more regulation. Insurance firms have belittled the survey by accusing Garamendi of playing politics to win an election.
