Follow Mom to the RV Park
Self Storage — By Shopping Blogs on April 22, 2009 7:40 amIf there was one thing that Holly cherished about her childhood, it was the road trips that her family had insisted she go on as a young child. Holly had always wanted to stay home for summer and hang out at the pool with her friends, but her Mom and Dad would not have it. She was expected to go on the family road trips no matter if it conflicted with her other plans or not. Now that she was older, Holly realized that her parents were not trying to make her life miserable, they were trying to enrich it, to spend time with each other as a family unit. At that age, Holly had not realized how fragile the bonds of family really were. She had not valued the commitment that her parents had made to keep the family growing together no matter what. Now, with young children of her own, she understood.
Holly decided to follow in her parents footsteps and tire tracks, getting herself and her family out on the open road as often as possible. She and her husband had purchased an RV and their goal was to make sure and take it out of the local RV storage unit at least once every two months in order to take a drive to someplace new. They had planned three major outings and three smaller trips throughout the course of the year, giving their children experiences like the Grand Canyon, Route 66 and Yosemite National Park. It was the best investment in their family that they could have ever made.
Keeping the family unit strong, making the time to allow her children to experience as much of this great world as she could manage, was the only natural way that Holly could have raised her kids, thanks to her own parents. As she drove to the local RV storage to get their traveling gear, she had gratitude in her heart for the life that she had lived, as well as the one that she was now creating.
