Wake Up Sunshine, Your Alarm Clock Application Is SingingBy admin on January 19, 2010 | No Comments
You may be old enough to remember when you had to carry a quarter in your pocket if you wanted to make a phone call. Pay phones were the only option for mobile telephone capabilities, short of stopping by at a stranger’s house and asking to borrow their phone.
The stranger, by the way, would have probably welcomed you in and offered you a cup or water, which you would have politely accepted.
My, how things have changed. Now, pay phones are only nostalgic props in a Hollywood movie. Today, kids, teenagers, adults and senior citizens each have cellular phones that allow them to chat and text with their loved ones from wherever they may be. At least, that’s what cell phone providers would have you to believe; that their service spans the entire country.
What’s more is that cell phones are not just for talking or not limited to text messaging. The small cellular device in your pocket is virtually like a miniature computer. From your cell phone, you can access the internet and take part in a phenomenal trend that has swept our culture – that trend is the cell phone application.
One very popular and practical cell phone app is an alarm clock application that turns your telephone into a portable and customizable alarm clock. This is undoubtedly one of the most common and popular cell phone applications because virtually everyone needs an alarm clock.
One of the neat things about cell phone alarm clock applications is that your cell phone will most likely allow you to determine what ringtone you wish to set as the noise to awaken you. Your phone is also likely to have bluetooth capabilities and allow for downloading ringtones.
So now, you can see that your wake up tone for your alarm clock application can be anything you may ever want it to be from your favorite pop culture song, sitcom jingle or even a recording you make yourself. A lot of people also enjoy finding unique sound effects and downloading them as ringtones to use in conjunction with their alarm clock application .
The great benefit of using your cell phone as your alarm clock is that is will go with you everywhere you want to go. And limiting the uses of an alarm clock application to strictly awakening you from slumber is really stunting all its uses.
Some of the other great uses for setting the alarm on your phone is to remind yourself about appointments, to take your daily medication, to time yourself or a number of other reasons.
Of course, the set back to using your phone is that you will come to rely on it to wake you up. So what happens if it dies in the middle of the night? We have all been there and had to rush into work, half awake and disheveled.
There more than one exciting alarm clock tool and they are not all limited for downloading to your cell phone. Online alarm clocks provide a dependable and portable wake up service that travelers use quite often. You may not want to rely on the hotel alarm clock or your cell phone to wake you up for an important meeting.
This is a prime example of how useful online alarm clocks can be. You can typically find such a service for free and they will most likely offer a few choices in the ringtone or sound you’d like to awaken to.
There is no doubt about it, technology has come a long way. If you are looking for a reliable alarm clock application , there is more than one way to find it.

Sound The AlarmBy admin on December 20, 2009 | No Comments
How many of us have slept through our alarm clocks day after day? Many of us have been late to work too many times to count and could be on the verge of losing your job based on your tardiness. People have been sleeping through their alarm clocks as long ago as alarm clocks were around. When first purchased, a person is probably not used to the sound that alarm clocks made so they would not realize that was a sound to wake up to and may be startled at the sound. As the alarm is more routine and common, it begins to get easier to sleep through it.
Today, people use different alarm clocks and sounds in order to get their selves out of bed in the morning or after an afternoon nap. Most people use their cell phones, mp3 players and their computers to awaken them from their slumber. It is really hard sometimes to get up and want to face the day that is in front of you especially when staying in your warm and cozy bed is such a better option for you.
People are starting to wake up to different sounds than just the standard alarm. When people plug their mp3 to their alarm clock they can wake up to their favorite music. When people use their computers or their online alarm clock they wake up to all kinds of sounds such as a rooster, your favorite music or sound bites from your favorite actor. There are no limits to the different sounds your online alarm clock can give to you when you take advantage of service.
Most people have some sort of external sound system hooked up to their computers that can allow their online alarm clock to be used to its fullest capabilities. For the most part the computer speakers that come with your laptop or your desktop computer might not have enough volume to wake you from your deep sleep. With the online alarm clock if the volume is not loud enough you might think that the sound is come to you in your dreams not reality. Conveniently for you, the website actually conducts a sound test for you that help you determine whether or not your volume is loud enough.
Naturally we are talking about an alarm that is being sounded from your computer, so there are a couple of things that you might want to ensure you have set up before you go to sleep.
First, ensure that you have your power settings on your computer set to where your computer will not shut down or sleep due to inactivity. One of the worst things that can happen is that you rely on your online alarm clock to wake you up and your computer turned itself off about six hours ago.
Also, make sure that your internet connection is solid and that your router, if you use one, is reliable. You do not want to lose connection while you are sleeping. And ensure that you have set your internet alarm clock to the proper time that you want to wake up and the sound you want to wake up to. There is nothing like making all the necessary precautions to wake up and forget to set the time.
Lastly make sure the volume on the computer is set to a comfortable level. You do not want to have it too low to where you cannot wake up from it, but you do not want it blaring to where it awakens you with a heart attack.
In reality, you want to use the online alarm clock as your back up plan, just in case your usual alarm clock fails. This alarm clock can be fun, but it can also save you in a pinch.

Customize Alarm Clocks To Have A Pleasant Wake Up Call
One of the most irritating sounds known to man has to be an alarm clock buzzer. While there are a wide variety of tones, the standard alarm is a harsh, loud, repetitive tone. Although the point of an alarm is to wake you from sleep and motivate you to get out of bed, some alarms can coerce you from a peaceful slumber and right into a grumpy mood.
Luckily, alarm clocks have come a long way from the sounding bell or bleeping buzz that we had to endure a decade ago. Today, you can find an alarm clock with a built in radio. Typically clocks with radio functions allow you to set the clock to sound to your favorite radio station or the buzzer, whichever you prefer.
The great thing about awakening to a radio station is that you can change the mood and tone of your morning as you wish. For example, if you like to wake up to Rock so you get your blood flowing and put a pep in your step, then you may tune in to a Rock N Roll station before bed.
Or if you want to have lazy Saturday and wake up to Rhythm and Blues you can change the station settings and set your clock so that you are gently awakened. You may be surprised just how much a little mood music changes your tune when you wake up in the morning.
An increasingly popular alarm clock trend provides audio input or line in plugs that allow you to hook up an mp3 player to your alarm clock . This is a very practical and functional tool for more than just setting a tune to wake up to. The clock will serve as your speaker system for your mp3 player so you need not walk around with headphones on in your own home.
To make this clock and mp3 combo even more useful, there are docking stations that will charge your mp3 player while serving as your speaker system, alarm and clock. This is a multi-functional tool that will make your life simpler and more relaxed.
The advantage of using a clock programmed to a song on your mp3 is that you can select the exact song you wish to wake up to. Whereas, a radio alarm would sound off at whatever is playing on the airwaves at that time – be it music, a commercial or a talk show. This may be ideal if you wake up on time for your favorite morning talk show.
The cost of a radio and alarm combo is not much more than the cost of a standard alarm that offers no radio or customizable alarm option. Of course, there are high end models and clocks that offer more options and functions and increase in price. So if you value the flexibility and style of waking up to the radio, or simply want anything other than a resounding beep, this may be the option for you.
Even better is the multi-purpose docking station and mp3 player with a clock display and alarm settings. These can be moderately expensive and as you step up in quality and add more functions, the price goes up. However, the many purposes this one device will serve means that you can combine all those tools in one.

Listen to that Alarm Clock
I am not a morning person at all. I love sleeping in and it is almost impossible to get myself out of bed in the morning. Even with an alarm clock, I find that waking up is a pretty difficult thing to get myself to do. Throughout my life I have tried various things to work as my alarm clock, but finding the perfect one that can actually get me out of bed in the morning is a challenge.
When I was in school, my mom acted as my personal alarm clock. She would come into my room clapping her hands as loud as she could and screaming that it was time to get up. It was definitely not the most enjoyable wake up call. Looking back on it, I was pretty lucky I had a mom who made sure to get herself up in the morning to make sure her kids got on the bus on time. The reason she did it was probably because she did not want to have to drive us to school. I guess she figured that if she was going to get up in the morning it was better for her to simply wake us up than having to get dressed, get in the car, and drive the ten minutes to school. I took it for granted that she made it her personal business to be our alarm clock in the morning and get us going. All of my friends did not have moms who did that which I thought was pretty weird. But, I suppose it was my mom that was the oddball out. With a kid like me though, if she had been my alarm clock, I never would have made it to school on time and I would have gotten myself into quite a bit of trouble.
The one problem with my mom acting as my personal alarm clock was that she would wake me up about fifteen minutes before the bus would come. In those fifteen minutes I only had enough time to brush my teeth and hair, wash my face, and get dressed. If I was lucky I remembered to grab some breakfast before I ran to the bus. However, I usually liked showering in the morning, so on those mornings I would set an alarm clock for myself so I could get up in time to shower and dry my hair. Of course, the minute my alarm clock would go off I would groan and hit snooze. Some days I actually motivated myself enough to get out of bed, but those days were rare and in between. Usually, my mom would be the alarm clock that would actually work in the morning. Finally I did figure out an alarm clock that worked for me. It was not actually an alarm clock but a spray bottle. I would let my first alarm go off in the morning, but if I did not wake up to it I would spray myself in the face with water the second time it went off. Although this was unpleasant, it definitely woke me up more than a loud ringing noise did.
When I went to college it took a while for me to adjust to not having my mom as my alarm clock. Luckily, I did get myself into the habit of getting out of bed when I needed to (most of the time). Don’t worry, when your college professors are taking attendance which is half of your grade, you make it your business to listen to your alarm clock and wake up.
