Lost and Confused While Electronic ShoppingBy admin on September 14, 2009 | No Comments
Have you ever been electronic shopping and been just swamped by customer service people who are trying to help you out? How does it make you feel? Do you appreciate it, or do you just want them to go away? I, for one, would not have any idea what to do without these people when I am electronic shopping. There obviously must be a lot of people like me in this world or these stores would not need to hire so many people for their store.
When it comes to electronics I need a lot of help. I will go electronic shopping and be looking for something in particular, but the minute I start asking questions about it, the answers I receive are way over my head. I think it is mostly the vocabulary I have trouble with. Words like megabyte and megapixel make my head spin! I do not know what in the world they mean. I think when I do go electronic shopping I am going to need a list of vocabulary words so I know exactly what is being explained to me. This is important because I need to know what I am buying, how to work it, and whether or not it is the best option for me!
This overwhelming feeling happens to me every time I go electronic shopping. When I can I bring a friend along with me who can break down what I need to know. I suppose for some people electronics are a passion and for others, they just need to own them and know how to work them. These people probably need help like I do, while electronic shopping . I would not know what to do without my cell phone, laptop, and digital camera, but when I went electronic shopping for all of these things it usually ended with me putting all of my trust into the customer service person since I had no idea what was best for me or how to figure it out!
For example, the last time I went electronic shopping I had to buy a wireless router. I was not sure what kind would be best for my house, or what type is the most reliable of best to use. So, I just told the guy what kind of computer I had and what my house was like and then asked him to please just pick out the best one for me. He began throwing around the brand names and features of all the different wireless routers and I was probably just staring at him with this confused expression on my face. I am sure it was pretty obvious to him that I am not the best at electronic shopping.
It’s not that I don’t like electronic shopping. I love looking at all the different appliances and gadgets and playing around with them. The cameras, especially, are exciting to test out. It is also cool to think that one of them is going to end up being mine. When it comes time for me to actually make a decision, though, I immediately turn to someone with a name tag for help.
For some people, I am sure that all of the customer service employees at electronic stores are annoying when they are trying to go electronic shopping. I, on the other hand, am so glad that they are there because I would be lost without them!Brought to you by :

Everything to Think About Before Computer ShoppingBy admin on September 12, 2009 | No Comments
If you need a new computer, going computer shopping can be a little bit overwhelming. There are so many different things you must consider and think about in what would make the perfect computer for you. We see so many different commercials and advertisements that are meant to influence us one way or the other when we do go computer shopping.
The first thing you must decide is whether you want a laptop or a desktop. I suppose they both have their pros and cons. Depending on what you need, one is probably a better fit for you than the other. So, before you go computer shopping make sure you know whether you would like a desktop or a laptop. If you are a student, or are going to need your computer in multiple locations, then a desktop is most likely the best way to go. However, if you do own a laptop, be aware that laptops are very easy to steal. The last thing you want is to go computer shopping, buy a new computer, and then have it disappear a few months later. So, if you are not going to need your computer in a number of locations, it might be better to buy a desktop. A desktop is much more difficult to move, making it less susceptible to theft.
When you are computer shopping , you will also notice that laptops usually are much pricier than desktops. If price is an issue for you, then a desktop might be the way to go. However, if you would reap the benefits of the portability of a laptop, you might want to go ahead and spend the extra money for the convenience of having a computer that serves all of your needs.
The next big decision you are going to have to make while computer shopping is whether you want a Mac or a PC. A lot of people are more comfortable with the PC and want to stick with what they are comfortable with, despite the arguments for the benefits of the Mac. I have always used PCs, but all of my friends who have Macs absolutely love them and say they are so much better. I suppose a big factor that goes into the decision between a PC and a Mac when you are computer shopping is how much you are willing to deal with a change.
Once you make the decision between a Mac and a PC the next decision you will have to make while computer shopping is what size you want your computer to be. If you buy a laptop and know you want to carry it around a lot, you probably do not want a large laptop. But, for some people, the larger screen is worth the added weight. Once you have figured out the size you want for your computer you are not quite done yet, with all the decisions you must make while computer shopping !
If you are looking for a PC while you are computer shopping , you then have a lot of different brands of computers you must consider. This is the part I think is the hardest and the part where I rely on what the people at the store tell me, in order to make the right decision.
So, if you are about to go computer shopping, think about all of these different factors and make some decisions before you go. This way, you will be more prepared to pick out the computer that will be best for you!

The Temptations of TV ShoppingBy admin on September 3, 2009 | 2 Comments
Ever since this new flat screen TV phenomenon has occurred, EVERYONE is going TV shopping for a new cool TV. I did not realize how big of a craze it was until it affected my own father, who is typically a pretty outdated guy when it comes to technology. We sat down to dinner one night and he asked me if I wanted to go TV shopping with him the following day. I thought that was weird because we have a really nice, big TV in our living room, and he had just recently gotten a new TV for his bedroom upstairs.
I asked him why he needed to go TV shopping and he told me that he wanted to get a flat screen TV. I did not get it. “What is wrong with the TV you already have, Dad?” I asked. He then launched into this long explanation about picture quality and performance that, half of the time, went over my head. After listening to this long winded explanation about why my dad wanted to go TV shopping for a new flat screen, I agreed that I would go with him. It is always nice to have a little father daughter time and I knew that I would probably get a nice lunch out if I agreed to go.
So, the next day after a nice lunch at Olive Garden (my favorite), my dad and I headed out to the closest electronic store on a TV shopping quest. He had a pretty good idea what he wanted so I’m not sure exactly why he wanted me to tag along. I suppose he probably just wanted to have some bonding time with his eldest child TV shopping since I was usually gone at school all the time.
Once I got a look at all the lightweight, sleek, and impressive flat screen TVs I could see what the whole craze was about. I wanted to do some TV shopping myself! Thinking about my out of date, heavy, and awkward TV in my room at school made me depressed. I knew I was about to get some graduation money and as we walked the aisles and I stared in awe at all the beautiful new TVs, I began making tentative plans to go TV shopping once I had a little extra cash.
The only problem was I would need a little bit more than a little extra cash if I wanted one of these really nice new flat screens. They didn’t come any cheaper than about $500! When I told my dad about my desire for one of these new TVs he told me that for me, it would probably be smart to wait until I was working a full time job and actually had a decent amount of money in the bank. It was hard to resist them though as my dad and I continued our TV shopping . They sparkled and winked at me beckoning me to purchase one of them. It was almost like when you go to the humane society and you see all the animals. You feel like you just have to take one of them home! That was how TV shopping was making me feel.
My dad and I wrapped up our TV shopping when he finally decided on a huge flat screen for our living room. I did not buy a flat screen myself, and I probably will have to wait a while for one. However, I was lucky enough to get the old TV that had been in our living room previously! Some day though… I will go TV shopping for one of those impressive flat screen TVs.

I Wanna Go Laptop Shopping Too!
The summer before college all of my friends were going laptop shopping. It was so depressing for me because my parents told me that I would have to make do with the desktop we had because we did not have the money to spend on a new laptop. It was frustrating because I would see all my friends’ sleek and shiny new laptops and I was super jealous. I wanted to go laptop shopping too.
Having a laptop just seemed so much more appealing than my clunky old desktop. They are so much easier to transport and work with. I arrived at college and I tried to come to terms with the fact that I was not going to get to go laptop shopping and I was going to have to make the best out of not having a laptop. After all, campus has computers everywhere. It’s not like I needed a laptop when I had access to a computer lab in almost every building on campus.
Dealing with this was difficult though. Signs for laptop shopping were being displayed everywhere, and freshmen with their parents were walking around with new laptops in boxes daily. After a few weeks at school though, the signs eventually disappeared and most people had finished their laptop shopping for that school year. This made the fact that I did not get to go laptop shopping and have my own laptop a little easier, but it was still difficult to deal with not having a laptop especially between classes when all of my friends would gather in the commons with their laptops. I would sit with them as they checked facebook and their e-mails and worked on their homework on their laptops. I would sit there and be sad and jealous and try to bury myself into a conversation or a book. Wanting a laptop, though, was always present in my mind.
When I went home for winter break, my dad asked me to bring my desktop home. He said he wanted to work on it; I had no clue that he really was going to take me laptop shopping. By this point, laptop shopping had become a far away dream that I had accepted was not going to happen. Nothing did happen until Christmas morning. One of the last gifts I opened was a tiny box; I expected a pair of earrings or a bracelet it was so small. Instead, I found a small piece of folded up paper. It said: this coupon is redeemable for one trip to go laptop shopping.
I was ecstatic! I asked my dad if he was sure; did we really have enough money to go laptop shopping? I knew that they were already spending so much on my tuition and everything else they did for me. He told me that he had received a Christmas bonus and he knew how much it meant to me to have a laptop.
Although I was so anxious to go laptop shopping, we waited until the next week when all the after Christmas sales were happening. At the store, I looked at all the different laptops I could choose from and I was in heaven. I did not get the most expensive or nicest laptop; we did not have the money for that. That did not matter to me though. I finally had a laptop!
